About

Aims and scope

European Radiology Abdomen focuses on research that advances and elucidates abdominal imaging – from novel technologies and quantitative methods to clinical implementation of imaging guidelines and recommendations.

It is open to submissions of original articles, reviews, Letters-to-the-editor, and practice-oriented articles.

The journal welcomes submissions on:

• Multimodality, quantitative and functional imaging of gastrointestinal, hepatopancreatic, and genitourinary diseases
• Retrospective and prospective clinical imaging studies
• Technological developments, innovations and new procedures including interventions in abdominal disease imaging and management
• Educational, professional and management issues in gastrointestinal and abdominal imaging
• Guidelines, recommendations, and statements from experts, leading institutions, and gastrointestinal, urogenital and abdominal imaging societies
• Emerging topics in gastrointestinal and abdominal imaging and related care
• Abdomen specific AI-applications, radiomics and biomarker discovery

European Radiology Abdomen is owned by the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in collaboration with the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) and the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), and welcomes submissions from all regions, aiming to publish articles that are globally relevant.

It is a Gold Open Access journal – all articles are freely available on the publisher’s portal Springer Nature Link.
