Aims and scope
European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic is dedicated to advancing multimodality cardiovascular and thoracic imaging by publishing innovations within the field, addressing current limitations, and offering clinically meaningful insights.
The journal focuses on both clinical and technical developments, with the overarching mission of improving patient care and outcomes in cardiovascular and thoracic disease. It is open to submissions of original articles, reviews, Letters-to-the-editor, and practice-oriented articles.
The journal welcomes submissions on:
• Multimodality, quantitative and functional imaging in cardiovascular and thoracic disease
• Retrospective and prospective clinical imaging studies
• Technological developments, innovations, radiation dose aspects, and new procedures including interventions in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging and management
• Educational, professional and management issues in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging
• Guidelines, recommendations, and statements from experts, leading institutions, and cardiovascular and chest imaging societies
• Emerging topics in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging and related care
• Cardiovascular and thoracic imaging AI-applications, radiomics and biomarker discovery
European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic is owned by the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI), and welcomes submissions from all regions, aiming to publish articles that are globally relevant.
It is a Gold Open Access journal – all articles are freely available on the publisher’s portal Springer Nature Link.
