For example, your published article can be posted on your personal or institutional homepage, emailed to friends and colleagues, printed and sent to as many people as you wish, archived in a collection, distributed on CD-ROM, included in course-packs, quoted in the press, translated and further distributed as often and widely as possible.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/2.0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read the full Creative Commons license here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the Article Processing Charge?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe traditional business model in scientific publishing relies on restricting access to published research, in order to recoup the costs of the publication process. This restriction of access to published research prevents full use being made of digital technologies, and is contrary to the interests of authors, funders and the scientific community as a whole. The traditional subscription-based model is also becoming increasingly unsustainable, as increasing amounts of research is being published whilst library budgets remain static.<br \/>\nIn contrast, the open access publishing model treats publication as the last phase of the research process. Article-processing charges (APCs) cover the cost of the publication process to allow free and immediate access to the research articles. APCs ensure transparency and allow publishers to compete to provide the best service at the best price. By coupling the cost of publication to research budgets, APCs ensure that the journal publishing system can cope with an ever increasing volume of research.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.i3-journal.org\/cms\/website.php?id=\/en\/index\/faq\/about_the_article_processing_charge.htm\">See further information on the Article Processing Charge here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Are articles be indexed in PubMed?<\/strong><br \/>\nInsights into Imaging is indexed in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PubMed Central<\/a>, and is also searchable via the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entrez Search System of the U.S. National Library of Medicine<\/a>. All articles published in SpringerOpen journals are included in many bibliographic databases so that your work can be found easily and cited by researchers and clinicians around the world. All articles in journals published by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biomedcentral.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0BioMed Central<\/a>\u00a0are also included in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/sites\/entrez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PubMed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Note that because the full text of all\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biomedcentral.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BioMed Central<\/a>\u00a0research articles is available without registration or subscription, search engines such as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.i3-journal.org\/cms\/www.Google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google<\/a>\u00a0also index them, greatly increasing their visibility.
