Baert Editorial Fellowship in 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Application NOW CLOSED<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The <em>European Radiology Private Foundation<\/em> announces the<\/p>\n<p><strong>Albert L. Baert Editorial Fellowship in 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This editorial fellowship programme aims to provide training in editorial skills, such as manuscript evaluation, manuscript editing, organisation of peer review, manuscript production and publishing, including electronic publication.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tasks<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/u>For the first time ever, the fellowship will be divided in two parts consisting of an onsite and a remote training programme of the selected candidate.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Firstly, the fellow will spend one week at the office of the Editor-in-Chief of <em>European Radiology<\/em>. This week includes five full days and evenings of homework which will be followed up during the next working day. During this stay the fellow will receive a personal training and gain insight into the work of the Editor-in-Chief in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handling new manuscripts<\/li>\n<li>Handling revised\/resubmitted manuscripts<\/li>\n<li>Inviting reviewers for a first review<\/li>\n<li>Making the first decision<\/li>\n<li>Making final acceptance decisions<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Upon completion of the onsite training, the fellow will continue working remotely on his\/her manuscripts, thereby being involved in all stages of a manuscript\u2019s lifetime<em>. <\/em>At the end of the fellowship period, the candidate will remain as a reviewer for the journal.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nThe candidate must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a certified radiologist or senior resident<\/li>\n<li>Be an active member of the European Society of Radiology<\/li>\n<li>Provide evidence of a record of scientific or clinical research<\/li>\n<li>Work in the field of Radiology as proven by scientific presentations or publications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates still in training or under the age of 35 are preferred.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Application<\/span><br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>Applications must include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updated Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n<li>Cover letter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Letters of reference can be included.<br \/>\nApplications should be sent to the <em>European Radiology<\/em> Editorial Office via e-mail (<a href=\"mailto:office@european-radiology.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">office@european-radiology.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The selected fellow will be awarded \u20ac4,500 to cover expenses and free registration to ECR 2019, where he\/she will be introduced at the journal\u2019s editorial board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for applications is <strong>November 30, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application NOW CLOSED The European Radiology Private Foundation announces the Albert L.
